LPI Wake Makes Minnesota Public Radio News, twice!
Recently Minnesota Public Radio reporter, Jennifer Vogel, wrote two stories economic development in small towns around Minnesota. LPI was fortunate enough to be a part of them thanks to the Red Wing Innovation Incubator. Lake Pepin Innovation Sponsors Local Crashed Ice Athlete
Lake Pepin Innovation is sponsoring Red Wing native Danny Bergeson as he competes for Team USA and seeks his first win at the Are, Sweden stop for Red Bull’s Crashed Ice series.
You can read Danny’s story at http://www.republican-eagle.com/event/article/id/79537/ , but in short LPI Wake saw a unique opportunity to help a talented athlete compete in a race of a lifetime as well as travel to a foreign country for the first time. Danny needed a little financial support with getting to Europe, so LPI Wake and other Minnesota sponsors pitched in.

Red Wing Innovation Incubator
We are proud to say that we have been selected to participate in the Red Wing Innovation Incubator (RWII)! The program is part of Red Wing ‘Downtown’ Main Street and is designed to spark new businesses in Red Wing and guide them to success with their team of experienced professionals. RWII has given LPI a small business loan to help get our product off the ground. We are honored to be a part of the program and will strive to promote a healthy, Downtown and Red Wing. Surf Expo 2011

Live Demonstration at River City Days of Red Wing

WWA Nationals Tournament in Minneapolis

Mid-Summer Update
It’s been awhile since I have made any updates to the site, but there is good news to report- the second generation of the automatic waterski winch has seen the water! It’s been a blast testing it and has been providing the pull for late night sessions on Lake Pepin.
One of the best pulls I have taken so far was behind the winch when a gigantic house boat provided about a 4 foot high by 5 foot wide wake that actually broke like a surf when it hit shore. I sat in the water with my board anxiously waiting for waves to get closer and closer, asking myself, “Trip it now? No. Wait. OK, Now! Hurry!” When it looked about right to start, I then tripped the winch and was basically surfing the waves like a quarter pipe. I’m not much of a surfer but did have that feeling of finally catching that wave with ease. I guess surfing alone isn’t something that needs to be done on the coast anymore. With my machine, you can get your sunrise and sunset rides in without paddling out into the ocean. I have no picture of that ride, but here is a still of another sunset pull.
